You just look in the direction of the phone – and the screen comes on. This is not a desirable thing in My Opinion ™

Settings > System > Gestures: Turn off “Tap to check phone ” and “Lift to check phone “

Settings > Display > Lock Screen: Turn off “Wake screen for notifications “
